Yes, but often as a last resort and depending on each individual case. Dr. Gallagher often finds that other treatments work just as well, and sometimes better than using prescription medication.
Initial intake lasts approximately 60-90 minutes. It is a chance to tell your story and be listened to. The goal is to create a road map to address your concerns. Please arrive 10 minutes early to fill out the necessary paperwork so we can maximize our time together.
We strive to utilize technology for everyone’s sanity. Phone tag, phone tree and messages are cumbersome for everyone. Dr. Gallagher's time is best spent being 100% present with the patients in her office. This is where the best care happens. To keep the office a healing space, we asking you to please schedule a follow up visit before you leave.
Please do this as early as possible. We respectfully ask for at least 24 hours to avoid fees (a late cancellation fee).

Insurance for primary care reimburses doctors on the quantity of visits and not necessarily the quality of visits. Dr. Gallagher is focused on high quality care and a better patient experience overall. Her treatment plans are comprehensive and she wants to make sure her patients understand these recommendations. All of this takes time, so Dr. Gallagher has structured her practice so that she is able to spend time with you on your health issues.
Almost all insurances will cover labs, imaging and prescription medications ordered by out-of-network providers as long as you use an in-network lab or imaging center. Speak with your insurance about in-network facilities, and double-check with them before you get your tests done to make sure that they will, in fact, cover the cost of the test or medication.
Dr. Gallagher does not accept Medicare or Medicaid for her office visits. She can still see you, but the visit is charged to you directly. However, she can order, refer, or prescribe treatments under these programs and may be billed accordingly (see above).
